ETHICS & POLICIES

Plagiarism Policy:

The Journal is strictly against any unethical act of copying or plagiarism in any form. Plagiarism is said to have occurred when large portions of a manuscript have been copied from existing previously published resources. All manuscripts submitted for publication to Journal are cross-checked for plagiarism using Turnitin/Urkund software. Manuscripts found to be plagiarized during initial stages of review are out-rightly rejected and not considered for publication in the Journal. In case a manuscript is found to be plagiarized after publication, the will conduct preliminary investigation, may be with the help of a suitable committee constituted for the purpose. If the manuscript is found to be plagiarized beyond the acceptable limits, the Journal will contact the author’s Institute / College / University and Funding Agency, if any. A determination of misconduct will lead Journal to run a statement bi-directional linked online to and from the original paper, to note the plagiarism and provide a reference to the plagiarized material. The paper containing the plagiarism will also be marked on each page of the PDF. Upon determination of the extent of plagiarism, the paper may also be formally retracted.

It is please noted that: Plagiarism Check: Good quality plagiarism software/ tool (Turnitin / Authenticate) will be used to check similarity that would not be more than 10% including reference section. In the case of exclusion of references, it should be less than 5%.

Types of Plagiarism:

The following types of plagiarism are considered by the Journal:

  1. Full Plagiarism: Previously published content without any changes to the text, Idea and grammar is considered as full plagiarism. It involves presenting exact text from a source as one’s own.
  2. Partial Plagiarism: If content is a mixture from multiple different sources, where the author has Extensively rephrased text, then it is known as partial plagiarism.
  3. Self-Plagiarism: When an author reuses complete or portions of their pre-published research, Then it is known as self- plagiarism. Complete self-plagiarism is a case when an author Republishes their own previously published work in a new journal.

Policy and Action for Plagiarism:

Manuscripts containing plagiarized material are against the standards of quality, research and innovation. Hence, all authors submitting articles to Journal are expected to abide ethical standards and abstain from plagiarism, in any form. In case, an author is found to be suspected of plagiarism in a submitted or published manuscript then, Journal shall contact the author (s) to submit his / her (their) explanation within two weeks, which may be forwarded to the Fact Finding Committee (FFC) constituted for the purpose, for further course of action. If Journal does not receive any response from the author within the stipulated time period, then the Director / Dean / Head of the concerned College, Institution or Organization or the Vice Chancellor of the University to which the author is affiliated shall be contacted to take strict action against the concerned author. Journal shall take serious action against published manuscripts found to contain plagiarism and shall completely remove them from Journal website and other third party websites where the paper is listed and indexed. The moment, any article published in Journal/BEIESP database is reported to be plagiarized, Journal will constitute a Fact Finding Committee (FFC) to investigate the same. Upon having established that the manuscript is plagiarized from some previously published work, Journal shall support the original author and manuscript irrespective of the publisher and may take any or all of the following immediate actions or follow the additional course of actions as recommended by the committee:

  1. Editorial office shall immediately contact the Director / Dean / Head of the concerned College, Institution or Organization or the Vice Chancellor of the University to which the author(s) is (are) affiliated to take strict action against the concerned author.
  2. Journal shall remove the PDF copy of the published manuscript from the website and disable all links to full text article. The term Plagiarized Manuscript shall be appended to the published manuscript title.
  3. Journal shall disable the author account with the journal and reject all future submissions from the author for a period of 03 / 05 / 10 years or even ban the authors permanently.
  4. Journal may also display the list of such authors along with their full contact details on the journal/BEIESP website.

It is academic, print and online, open access, double blind, Peer Reviewed International Journal. It aims to publish original, theoretical and practical advances in History & Archaeology. All submitted papers will be reviewed by the board of editorial board of committee of CIJHAR. The aim of the Journal is to disseminate original, Historical, theoretical or applied research in the field of History, Archaeology and Allied fields, to dispense a platform for publishing results and research with a strong empirical component, to aqueduct the significant gap between research and practice by promoting the publication of original, research, to seek original and unpublished research papers based on theoretical or field related works for the publication globally, to publish Original, theoretical and practical advances in History and Archaeology, Papers for the regular issues of the Journal can be submitted, round the year, electronically at cijhar@rediffmail.com, After the final acceptance of the paper, based upon the detailed review process, the paper will immediately be published print and online. Call for Papers

Central India Journal of Historical and Archaeological Research, CIJHAR is inviting researchers to submit articles or book reviews for its next issue.

CIJHAR is a refereed print and online Journal dedicated to pioneering new research in history and archaeology. Drawing on the latest historical, cultural, political, social, and theoretical analytical research, CIJHAR’s overarching purpose is to foster lively and productive academic debate.

We welcome articles on a broad range in both geographic and chronological terms, including local, regional, national and/or global foci from medieval right through to contemporary periods.

Submissions article should be submitted online. Please ensure that you have included all relevant contact information, including your name, the title of your manuscript, your professional or institutional affiliation and a permanent e-mail address. Papers for the regular issues of the journal can be submitted, round the year, electronically at cijhar@rediffmail.com/nahss2017@gmail.com. After the final acceptance of the paper, based upon the detailed review process, the paper will immediately be published online. However, assignment of the paper to a specific Volume / Issue of the Journal will be taken up by the Editorial Board later; and the author will be intimated accordingly. For Theme Based Special Issues, time bound Special Call for Papers will be announced and the same will be applicable for that specific issue only.

Submission of a paper implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or academic thesis) and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The submission should be approved by all the authors of the paper. If a paper is finally accepted, the authorities, where the work had been carried out, shall be responsible for not publishing the work elsewhere in the same form. Paper, once submitted for consideration in CIJHAR cannot be withdrawn unless the same is finally rejected.

  1. Quality Check: All submitted paper should be cutting edge, result oriented, original paper and under the Scope of the Journal. Article should have minimum of following headings: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodology, Result and Discussion, Conclusion and References.
  2. Paper Submission Criteria: Any one author cannot submit more than 01 papers for the same volume/issue. Review policy which means that both the reviewer (s) and author (s) identities concealed throughout the review process. All submitted manuscripts reviewed by three reviewer. The review comments of the reviewer (s) to be subject of acceptance and rejection of the paper that to be finally decided by Editor-In-Chief of the Journal. For it, minimum of 02 to 03 weeks required for review process. Copyright Property: After the publication, published paper (s) will be property of publishing house and journal.
  3. Publication Fee: Journal is providing open access (OA) services for author (s), reader (s) and institution (s). Journal does not take any kind of fee from the author (s), reader (s) and institution (s).

Manuscript Submission:

Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities – tacitly or explicitly – at the institute where the work has been carried out. The Publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.

Permissions for figures, tables and Photographs:

Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their papers. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.

  1. Title Page: The Title page should include the name(s) of the author(s), a concise and informative title, the affiliation(s) and address (es) of the author(s), the e-mail address, and mobile number(s) of the corresponding author.
  2. Abstract: Please provide an abstract of 150 to 450 words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references.
  3. Keywords: Author(s) should provide 4 to 6 keywords which can be used for indexing purposes.
  4. Text Formatting: Paper Setup must be in A4 size with Margin: Top 1.78 cm, Bottom 1.78 cm, Left 1.78 cm, Right 1.65 cm, Gutter 0 cm, and Gutter Position Top. Paper must be in two Columns after Authors Name with Width 8.59 cm, Spacing 0.51 cm. Whole paper must be with: Font Name Times New Roman, Font Size 10, Line Spacing 1.05 EXCEPT Abstract, Keywords (Index Term), Paper Tile, References, Author Profile (in the last page of the paper, maximum 400 words), All Headings, and Manuscript Details (First Page, Bottom, left side).Paper Title must be in Font Size 24, Bold, with Single Line Spacing. Authors Name must be in Font Size 11, Bold, Before Spacing 0, After Spacing 16, with Single Line Spacing. Please do not write Author e-mail or author address in the place of Authors name. Authors e-mail, and their Address details must be in the Manuscript details. Abstract and Keywords (Index Term) must be in Font Size 9, Bold, Italic with Single Line Spacing. All MAIN HEADING must be in Upper Case, Centre, and Roman Numbering (I, II, III…etc.), Before Spacing 12, After Spacing 6, with single line spacing. All Sub Heading must be in Title Case, Left 0.25 cm, Italic, and Alphabet Numbering (A, B, C…etc.), Before Spacing 6, After Spacing 4, with Single Line Spacing. Manuscript Details must be in Font Size 8, in the Bottom, First Page, and Left Side with Single Line Spacing. References must be in Font Size 8, Hanging 0.25 with single line spacing. Author Profile must be in Font Size 8, with single line spacing.
  5. Introduction: State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, with a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.
  6. Theory/Calculation/Methodology: A Theory Section should extend, not repeat the information discussed in Introduction. In contrast, a Calculation Section represents a practical development from a theoretical basis.
  7. Result: Results should be clear and concise.
  8. Discussion: This section should explore the importance of the results of the work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often appropriate.
  9. Conclusion and Future Scope: The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusion Section. In this section, the author(s) should also briefly discuss the limitations of the research and Future Scope for improvement.
  10. Appendix: If there are multiple appendices, they should be identified as A, B, etc. Formula and equations in appendices should be given separate numbering: Eq. (A.1), Eq. (A.2), etc.; in a subsequent appendix, Eq. (B.1) and so on. Similar nomenclature should be followed for tables and figures: Table A.1; Fig. A.1, etc.
  11. Acknowledgement: If desired, authors may provide acknowledgements at the end of the article, before the references. The organizations / individuals who provided help during the research (e.g. providing language help, writing assistance, proof reading the article, sponsoring the research, etc.) may be acknowledged here.
  12. References: Citation in text- Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). The references in the reference list should follow the standard IEEE reference style of the journal and citation of a reference. Web references- As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list, as well. Reference style: Text- Indicate references by number(s) in square brackets in line with the text. The actual authors can be referred to, but the reference number(s) must always be given. Example: ‘….. As demonstrated [3, 6]. Barnaby and Jones [8] obtained a different result ….’ List- Number the references (numbers in square brackets) in the list, according to the order in which they appear in the text. Example: [1] Shrivastava, Vinay “Water Management in Medieval India,, Publication Originals, New Delhi,2012,PP-84-97),”
  13. Captions and Numbering for Figure and Tables- Ensure that each figure / table has been numbered and captioned. Supply captions separately, not attached to the figure. A caption should comprise a brief title and a description of the illustration. Figures and tables should be numbered separately, but consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text.

Copyright Policy:

Authors note that paper cannot be withdrawn at any condition once it is accepted. The Author may not publish his/her contribution anywhere else without the prior written permission of the publisher unless it has been changed substantially. The Author warrants that his/her contribution is original, except for such excerpts from copyrighted works as may be included with the permission of the copyright holder and author thereof, that it contains no libelous statements, and does not infringe on any copyright, trademark, patent, statutory right, or propriety right of others. The Author signs for and accepts responsibility for releasing this material on behalf of any and all co-authors. In return for these rights:

  1. All proprietary rights other than copyrights, such as patent rights.

ABOUT CHIEF EDITOR

Dr. Vinay Shrivastava is Professor of History, Government Post Graduate College Panna, Madhaya Pradesh, He has done intensive study on Malwa in Madhya Pradesh. His research contribution promoted new Ideas and thoughts in various aspects of History and Archaeology. He has the honour of having various Research Projects in history/Archaeology and other research publications. He has completed successfully two Minor Research Projects from U.G.C., C.R.O. Bhopal in 2002 and 2004. He has completed successfully three Major Research Projects on Malwa and Bundelkhand sponsored by UGC, New Delhi. His first Major Research Project entitled. ‘A Study & documentation of historical monuments in Malwa’ was completed in 2007 (2005-2007). The second Major Research Project entitled. ‘Irrigation works & other water works in Malwa (1100- 1800 AD)’ was completed in 2011. (2009-2011). The Third Major Research Project entitled "A Study and Documentation Of Historical Monuments and its Decorative features of Medieval Bundelkhand" (2013-2015), was completed in 2016. ‘Swadheenta’ fellowship was also awarded to him by the Ministry of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh in 2008. His research work, ‘Neemuch Jile me Swatantrata Andolan Ka Itihas (1857-1947)’, has been accepted by the Govt. of MP for publication. His field survey and research work is accepted by the UGC and the Government of India and established him an eminent scholar on Central India. Dr Vinay Shrivastava published about 13 References books and Edited 30 Issues of Peer Reviewed Journal CIJHAR...His 98 Research Papers published in Various International and National Research Journals.
